About the role
You will own our accounting and reporting: management accounts, cash flow, VAT, payroll and year-end. You will work with our external accountants and leadership, and build strong financial controls as we grow.
What you will do
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reports
- Forecast cash flow and plan budgets
- Prepare VAT returns and liaise with HMRC and our accountants
- Oversee invoicing, credit control and payments
- Coordinate payroll and year-end statutory accounts
- Set up and maintain financial controls
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- 6+ years in finance, including 3+ years as a finance manager
- Monthly management accounts, VAT returns and year-end for a UK company
- UK GAAP (FRS 102)
- An ERP or accounting system (Xero, Sage, ERPNext or similar)
- English at CEFR C1 or above (IELTS 7.0 or equivalent)
Expert knowledge
- UK GAAP (FRS 102), accruals, prepayments and revenue recognition for recurring services
- UK VAT in depth: place of supply for services, reverse charge and Making Tax Digital
- Cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management
- Financial controls: segregation of duties, approval limits and month-end close
Preferred qualifications
- ERPNext
- Multi-currency accounts
- Technology or telecommunications sector
- Making Tax Digital for VAT
