About the role
You will plan, build and support networks from office sites to data centres and cloud. You will lead on routing, switching and firewall work, keep networks fast and secure, and resolve complex faults escalated by our support teams.
What you will do
- Design, configure and support routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs
- Lead routing and switching work (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP)
- Manage firewall policies and access control on a default-deny basis
- Monitor network health, capacity and performance
- Troubleshoot complex network faults and act as an escalation point
- Plan and carry out changes safely under change control
- Document network designs, configurations and changes
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years designing and running enterprise or service-provider networks
- Current CCNP Enterprise, JNCIP-ENT or equivalent certification
- Production BGP and OSPF design and troubleshooting
- Firewall certification: Fortinet NSE 4+, PCNSE or Check Point CCSA
- Network designs or change plans you led, with examples you can explain
- English at CEFR C1 or above (IELTS 7.0 or equivalent)
Expert knowledge
- BGP in depth: path selection, communities, route reflectors, filtering and RPKI origin validation
- Fast convergence and resilience: BFD, ECMP, VRRP and OSPF area design
- Packet-level troubleshooting with Wireshark: TCP windowing, MTU and fragmentation
- IPv6 design and dual-stack migration
Preferred qualifications
- CCIE Enterprise or JNCIE
- Network automation in Python or Ansible (code you can show)
- SD-WAN deployments (Fortinet, Cisco or VMware)
- AWS Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer certification
